A Very Special Love

This is a short movie review about a Filipino film called A Very Special Love. The main characters here are Sarah Geronimo as Laida and John Lloyd Cruz as Miggy.

The movie started right away. It was fast-paced and not boring. Both Miggy's and Laida's goals were presented in the start of the movie. Their feelings towards their goals were clear and highlighted that the audience would not have to figure out.

Both Sarah and John Lloyd performed well for their respective roles. The humor in Sarah was natural and she is really charming. The movie goers along with me are really laughing, there were no quiet moments in the cinema, except for the drama parts, of course. John Lloyd's playing as a terror boss is quite impressive too.

The support actors and actresses in the film gave out some of the best humorous punch lines. The movie would never be complete without them.

The story is simple, yet, full of lessons. I actually liked the story because it is not another "we gave our best-we're number one in no time" story. I have observed that Miggy's side of the story is more exposed. That's because it was his family that has issues. The best lesson I think for this movie is about humbleness.

It was worth my time and money.

A Very Special Love: John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo

This is a new film and not so new team up. John Lloyd and Sarah was first paired in Maalaala Mo Kaya in an episode called "Kwintas." The story is about two people of same social status but very different personalities. John Lloyd's character there didn't have a good reputation when it comes to girls and that's why Sarah's character totally disliked him. Many believed and saw the chemistry from that episode.

Sarah Geronimo started young but she got the total star spotlight at age 14 when she won Star For A Night. From the years 2003 to 2008, she already had 10 albums and 9 major concerts in the Philippines. She also have tours in and out of the country. She was included in some local movies like Filipinas, had hosted her own talent show which is Little Big Star and had starred in a television drama Pangarap na Bituin. Now, she regularly entertains us in ASAP where her performances are always awaited and applauded. What I like about this girl is that she has maintained her wholesome image over the years. Nowadays, many girls are taking their clothes off just to get a whole new attention. But Sarah didn't have to do that. Right now, she offers us a romantic, feel good movie that is yet to be a classic.

John Lloyd Cruz started in 1996 as one of the teenagers in Gimick. He was in a love team then with Kaye Abad. As a teenager, he did several shows and movies depicting the usual teenager life. His performances were good but not very noticeable then. In 2002, he played as Atty. Yuri Orbida where his character had a make over that everyone noticed and loved. His team up with Bea Alonzo became a hit and they made several movies like Now That I Have You and One More Chance. He received many awards and the most recent is Guillermo Memorial Scholarship Foundation's Box Office King for One More Chance. For his latest movie, A Very Special Love, he has a new leading lady which is Sarah Geronimo. What would the John Lloyd-Bea fans say about this? For me, it's a better team up.

The film is already being shown in cinemas. I will watch that next week and maybe write a review.
