Movie Review: Spider-man Three

So I decide to watch Spider-Man 3 and going into it, I was expecting it to be great and was anticipating it after the second one. One of the villains that I expected in the near future would be none other than Venom. But before I go into detail about the movie itself and give it a review, I want to talk about the Spider-Man series.

Now Spider-Man is one of the most popular superheroes produced by Marvel near the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Captain America, and many others. He had his own comics and even a few shows based around the web master. The most famous incarnation TV wise that is probably the most remembered is the Spider-Man: The Animated Series with 65 Episodes. At least I can say for myself that's what I grew up with TV wise and haven't read much of the comics but knew who he was.

Now we go to the Third Spider-Man movie and quite honestly did not live up to expectations. It wasn't so much of a poor effort but just something just was missing and you couldn't quite put your finger on it. There are multiple stories with different characters and it's not a huge problem. You had the love story with Peter Parker and Mary Jane. Harry wants revenge over what happened to his father. Of course, there's the story of the revenge with the death of Peter's uncle Ben.

Plot: The story is about centering about Peter wanting to propose marriage to Mary Jane. Along the way, you end up seeing Harry Osborn wanting to gain a measure of revenge for what he believes that Spider-Man killed his father. He gets knocked out and has amnesia until later in the movie.

Story: Multiple stories that somehow interlock or something like that. You have the one with Harry wanting revenge on Peter. There is also the story of Flint Marco breaking out of jail. Mainly his role is that of the sympathy villain because he says he needs money to help his daughter. Mary Jane and Peter are going through some hard times in their relationship and have many bumpy roads. There is also the introduction to Venom. At first he bonds with Peter and what made him different and wore a dark Spider-Man outfit therefore in that perspective would be as I will dub him Dark Spider-Man.

Action: The best fight scene to me personally would be the last epic battle. The one with Harry and Peter was a lop-sided match with Peter winning in such a convincing fashion and the first encounter saw him get knocked out fast and developing amnesia.

Overall: This is where I give the thoughts on it. The animations were pretty cool and I did like The Sandman's effects. For some reason and maybe this is just me, I was half-expecting Metallica's “Enter Sandman” theme when he first appeared. There was a lot going on and it kept you going without blinking. Let me just say that the action scenes personally overall made up for the plot that was just all over the place. One minute you were in the story with Peter and Mary Jane and then Harry wanting revenge. It wasn't a horrible and not one of the worst ones of all-time.

Random Question: Why didn't the butler tell Harry that his father killed himself instead of having him think his best friend did it? I was simply scratching my head on that and made me think so did the butler want Harry to kill Peter or what?

The final verdict is that I give this a 6.5/10. Personally, if the Action scenes didn't make up for the plot, it might have scored lower. There will be another Spider-Man and I do think it will come better and not have too much going on at once.

Spider Man 3

Your friendly neighborhood web-slinger is back, only this time his sunny
outlook has become partially overcast in the third chapter of director Sam
Raimi's Spider-Man saga. Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, and James Franco
return to reprise their roles from the previous two installments, with Thomas
Haden Church, Topher Grace, and Bryce Dallas Howard making their first
appearances in the series as Flint Marko (aka Sandman), Eddie Brock (aka Venom),
and Gwen Stacy. This is a must see!

I waited in line for hours at the theater for the premiere. It was well worth
the wait. If you're a Spider Man fan the third installment won't disappoint.
The cast, graphics, new villians, and loads of spidey action will keep you
mesmerized. Although I felt like my crush Topher Grace should have gotten
more screen time. I would still give it 5 stars and two thumbs up! The plot
involves Peter Parker (Maguire) has finally leaned to walk the middle ground
between being the superhero that his city needs, and the man that Mary Jane
(Dunst) loves.

All is well in New York City until one night, as Peter and M.J.
set gazing at the stars, a falling comet streams across the sky and crashes into
the ground close by. But this isn't any ordinary shooting star, and upon impact
the mysterious space rock is split open to reveal a shape-shifting symbiote
with the power to overtake anything that it comes into contact with.

Later, as Harry Osborn acquires his late father's flying board, engineers a powerful new
Goblin outfit, and takes to the sky to avenge dad's death, the mysterious space
sludge infects both Peter's Spider Man suit and ambitious street photographer Eddie
Brock (Grace). His strange new suit giving him a newfound sense of power as it gradually
overpowers his personality, Peter discovers that escaped convict Flint Marko was in
fact the man responsible for the death of Uncle Ben (Cliff Robertson).

Unluckily
for Peter, Marko has recently acquired the power to morph at will and quickly completes
his transformation into the dreaded Sandman. As the Sandman gives in to his darkest
criminal instincts and the slithering space symbiote transforms Eddie Brock into the
nightmarish fanged villain known as Venom, the citizens of New York City must once again
call on Spider Man to fend off destructive forces that are far too powerful for the likes of
mortal human. Go to the theaters and check this movie out!
