The Ultimate Question: Star Wars or Star Trek?

So I was watching Star Trek last night ( ye haha what a geek) and, well, it was quite interesting!
Ye we got the Weird guy with pointy ears and the captain who cant speak... in...full...senten...ces(seriously what is up with that) we also got the pshyco doctor and all, so then just a random thought popped in my head... What are some the diffrences between Star Trek and Star Wars also...which is better?

So i did some research on the two and found many interesting answers, so here i will tell you 3 facts and diffrences

1. Star Trek was created well over 20 years befor Star Wars and George Lucas got some of his ideas from Star Trek, Infact George Lucas was a Star Trek fan himself.

The first Episode of Star Trek TOS aired Spetember 8th, 1966, where as Star Wars: A New Hope was released in theatres May 25th, 1977.

original Star Wars movie poster

2. Even though Star Trek was released first it didn't have the type of special effects Star Wars had
Star Wars: A New Hope introduced all sorts of new Special Effects to the movie world and was outstanding, While Star Trek was a bit disapointing with special effects, Though i can not blame them as Star Trek was created a good 20 - 30 years earlier, and did exceptionally well for its time.

3. Star Trek takes place right here in our own Galaxy, the home planet for us Humans being Earth, While Star Wars ( as said in the oppening scene) takes place in a Galaxy far, far away... Where it is controled by a great Galactic Empire and many diffrent races of aliens.
While in Star Trek the aliens look like humans with diffrent color, or an added antena or something to make them look at least a bit diffrent, In Star Wars there isn't such a great resemblance, the movie was made really well with the diffrences of aliens from humans.

Those are a few of the details i found for more details i sujest visiting Wikipedia.org.
You are also probably wondering, Which is best, well i can not answer that myself i leave that to you, leave a comment on what you think is best, as well if you just want to comment on what i can improve in my articles i would appreciate it
Thanks for reading

George Lucas: Milking the Star Wars Cow

The first three Star Wars movies were phenomenal, marking a revolution in cinema. The movies featured top notch special effects, for their time, and were all excellent action films. They were so amazing, that people often argue which of them deserves to be crowned best movie of all time, not just best Star Wars movie. That's a true representation of the brilliance of the first three movies.

Much has changed since then, however, but it appears that George Lucas doesn't really seem to care. He released the new trilogy of movies, episode 1, 2 and 3 at the beginning of the 21st century, but they were all flops compared to how they had been envisaged. That doesn't seem to have fazes Lucas though, who has been involved in the production of numerous Star Wars games, along with the new Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie. The question is though, if Lucas is simply releasing half-assed attempts at games and movies, purely with the aim of increasing the Star Wars related turnover. It is definitely arguable that the last 3 movies, along with most of the games, only had success because they were under the Star Wars name. It is hard to see any of the movies having been terribly successful if they had been released as standalone movies, or a standalone trilogy.

While most of the movies/games haven't been bad by normal, everyday standards, they have been incredibly poor in the majority of cases when compared against the original trilogy. The problem, therefore, is whether the newer productions could actually damage and tarnish the Star Wars name. It would be a major pity to see the name of the original trilogy dragged through the mud simply to increase turnover and make Lucas a richer man than he his now.

Unfortunately, it seems as though that is exactly what is happening, and it is a real pity that the original 3 movies could be forgotten under the disappointments of the subsequent movies, cartoon shows and games. Hopefully Lucas will come to his senses soon, and either choose to end the needless tarnishing of the Star Wars brand, or produce something worthy of being referred to as part of the Star Wars world. Hopefully, the original Star Wars can fight back.

More Movies You Probably Didn’t Know About

I had many people complaining that they knew about all the movies I had in my last article Five Movies You Didn't Know Were Being Released, so I decided to give you five more! If you know about all ten of these movies then you have just as much as a life as I do, Great Job!

Death Race (Sept. 26, 2008)

“An update of the cult classic Death Race 2000, in the not-so-distant future, a prisoner (Jason Statham) is forced to compete in a no-holds-barred car race.”

If Jason Statham is going to be in it than I already know it is going to be BA. I look forward to Jason using his Transporter style acting in another movie.

Land Of The Lost (July 17, 2009)

“Paleontologist Rick Marshall (Will Ferrell) finds himself teleported to another world that is ruled by dinosaurs and reptilian creatures known as Sleestaks. Based on the beloved Saturday morning children's show by Sid and Marty Krofft.”

Yes, Will Ferrell you get lost in that land and do what you do. You could probably make a movie about Will Ferrell being a mute and playing chess and it would still be funny. This was an amazing TV show back in the day, so I look forward to seeing this movie!

The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor (Aug. 8, 2008)

“In 1946, Rick OConnell (Brendan Fraser) and his wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) have just finished a tour of duty as spies for the British army and are looking for an exciting new adventure to go on. Their new assignment - to transport an historical artifact to Shanghai, China - seems easy enough, but trouble brews when they meet up with their son Alex (Luke Ford), who has just discovered the secluded resting place of the Dragon Emperor. When the ancient ruler (Jet Li) is re-awakened, the O'Connell family must stop him from also bringing back his terra cotta army with which he wants to reconquer all of China.”

JET LI!! That is seriously going to be amazing! Why did this movie take so long? Well I bet its going to be the best yet. Anyways have you guys ever been on The Mummy ride in universal? If you haven't you need to, may have been one of the best indoor roller coasters ever!

Punisher: War Zone (Sept. 12, 2008)

“Continuing his war against the world of organized crime, Frank Castle (Ray Stevenson) attacks and viciously disfigures mob boss Billy Russoti, who changes his name to Jigsaw (Dominic West) and raises an even bigger of ruthless gangsters.”

I feel like the first Punisher didn't get as much credit as it should have. The movie was truly incredible; it's a movie I can watch over and over. I am excited to see how they are going to continue the story. Rent the Punisher if you haven't seen it, it's worth it.

Yes Man (Dec. 19, 2008)

”Carl Allen (Jim Carrey) is living a very unhappy life. In order to acquire a more upbeat outlook, he swears to live an entire year by saying "yes" to everything. While his new philosophy has an initially positive effect on his daily existence, being 100% agreeable eventually starts wearing him down.”

Can anyone say Liar Liar 2? Is the pen blue “yes”, is the pen black “yes”. Well which is it black or blue “yes”?

Five Movies You Didn't Know Were Being Released

Some movies these days should never have made it to the theaters. I don't believe in walking out of a movie, so if it sucks then I get naptime! I am not saying the following movies will be bad, but I am pretty sure most of you didn't know they were in production.

5. Crank 2: High Voltage (2009)

“Chelios faces a Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered ticker that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working.”

Wow, didn't this guy fall out of a airplane and hit cement ground in the first movie. I guess we have another new superhero, lookout here comes Crankman! I didn't love the first movie, it was ok. I really hope this one will be a lot better!

4. The Incredible Hulk (June 13, 2008)

“Still stuck with the ability to turn into a raging behemoth, Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) desperately searches for a cure that will rid him of his gamma-irradiated alter ego once and for all. However, he's barely given a chance to stop running from the obsessed General Thunderbolt Ross (William Hurt) who will use the entire might of the U.S. military to find Banner and kill the Hulk. Meanwhile, Banner also must deal with his tortured relationship with Betty Ross (Liv Tyler), as well as contend with a new opponent, another gamma-created monstrosity called The Abomination (Tim Roth).”

I am going to start off by saying that I got some really good nap time during the first Hulk movie. It would have to be on my top ten worst super hero movies! But sadly I love marvel so I guess I will end up spending $6 to go see this movie anyways.

3. Madagascar: The Crate Escape (Nov. 7, 2008)

“Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer and Jada Pinkett Smith all return to lend their voices to their animal counterparts: Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo. After leaving the island of Madagascar, the creatures find themselves still lost on the African mainland.”

Awesome, I actually really enjoyed the first one! As long as they don't make a “Sharks Tale 2: Sharks Can't Dance” then I am good to go!

2. Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Aug. 15, 2008)

“George Lucas presents an all-new animated continuation of his mythos set in a galaxy far, far away. Taking place between Episodes II and III, Anakin Skywalker and his young female padawan Ahsoka attempt to keep the peace during turbulent times. The young Jedi and his apprentice team up with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padme Amidala to stop the destruction of the Republic by Lord Palpatine, Count Dooku and General Grievous.”

Yes great idea, lets take all the mini episodes from cartoon network and turn them into a movie! It's like taking candy from a baby.

1. Dragonball (Aug. 15, 2008)

“A young boy named Goku seeks out upon his grandfather's dying request to find the great Master Roshi and gather all seven Dragon Balls (of which he has one) in order to prevent Piccolo from succeeding in his desire to use the Dragon Balls to take over the world.”

I never through it would actually happen, but it actually is. I really don't know how I feel about this, I am excited and nervous at the same time. If they mess this up I am going to be pissed off for quite some time. Also, no super sayians in this movie kiddos, this is Dragonball without the Z! Oh and it looks like you are going to have to compete with cartoon Star Wars, better change your release date soon!
