Lucky You or Not So Lucky You
by Ange Perdu, May 8, 2007
New Drew Barrymore Movie "Lucky You" is not so lucky. This movie was a total bore. Not one of Drew's best.

Valentine's Flick Pick Gift: "Hitch" Re-Viewed
by Sophiestein, Jan 22, 2007
Will Smith? Warm and adorable, and in almost every frame. Eva Mendes? A chance to be feminine and hold her own. Kevin James? A powerfully funny comic giant, and a force greater than the small screen allows. Three question-marked reasons to catch "Hitch" at the video/DVD store for the first or second time. And a killer great low-level (discreet) Valentine's Day gift.

"The Holiday:" Reviewed With Regrets
by Sophiestein, Dec 29, 2006
Cameron Diaz, adorable. Kate Winslet, magical, as always. Jude Law, more than adorable, lovable. Jack Black, thinner, subtle, low-key. Well-written and I wanted to love it. Really wanted to love it. Really, really, really. But did I? Not so much.

"Desk Set:" An Oldie but Terrific Christmas Movie Must-See
by Sophiestein, Dec 17, 2006
You'll be in the video store, the yellow box will seem "old-fashioned", you won't recognize the names, but I promise, THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. It has a "Friends" feel -- funny, no Christmas schmoozy, old century, boring messages. The couple who wrote it are Nora Ephron's parents -- they were dripping with the same kind of talent. Think "Christmas in "Seattle" or "You've Got Office". I dare you not to love it.

All You Need Is Love: Re-Viewing "Love Actually" for The Holidays
by Sophiestein, Nov 4, 2006
Last night I had my first sighting -- I caught three, actually-- of holiday tv ads. Time to hang the mistletoe, time to watch the latest, greatest addition to that very small list of "December Must-Rent or Tivo Holiday Films." This one is so sweet and lovely...
