"Sex and the City" Is Getting Its Own Movie

So shouldn't another highly successful TV show go big screen as well?

Delightful news has been made recently for those people who happen to be fans of "Sex and the City", HBO's popular show about four women who, from what I have gathered, sit around all the time and sometimes have pretty graphic sex (with men - I think). The new is this: all four women (Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon) will reprise their roles in a full-length movie.

It's just so dandy isn't it? The greatest show of ALL time getting its own movie! I can hardly contain my excitement - I'm kidding. I actually have no real beef with the show or the idea that "Sex and the City" will become a movie.

I, sadly, have never had HBO (except for those weekends where they gave everybody a free look, the same weekends where I would cease to exist to the outside world, including one instance where the skin on my back literally fused with my couch - lots of surgery, and no more HBO), so I have never been able to see the show in all of its sexual glory. All I ever get is the watered-down version of the show and that's about as much fun as getting punched in the face repeatedly with a brick.

Hearing about this prompted me to start thinking about the possibility of other popular TV shows getting their own movies. I'm only talking about shows that have been off the air for a few years and didn't suck (so a lot of CBS stuff goes right out the window).

The first (and really only) show that comes to mind that, in my very humble opinion, would make a great movie is "Seinfeld". I've been trying for years to get the bad taste out of my mouth that the series finale gave me but it's been no use. Ultimately, it is a futile effort to forget the worst series-ending finale in history, so the only option left for me at this point is to dream.

A "Seinfeld" movie would be the perfect way to properly end the series and help everyone forget about the debacle that ended with Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer all in prison for a year. Yeah, it got that bad. The concept fits perfectly with moviegoers, too. We all love a good film where we can be entertained without having to think too much, so what better movie to do this for us than a movie about nothing?

Who wouldn't watch a glorified episode of "Seinfeld"? For the people who despise the show: that was a rhetorical question.

If "Sex and the City" gets a movie, then so should "Seinfeld". Let's face it; those poor people have all been typecast as the shallow foursome (I suppose that's the case in both TV shows though, isn't it?), so they might as well embrace it for one more huge payday.

I would definitely pay to see that movie and it's not like it would be the worst idea in the world. After all, they made "Bratz", which is spelled wrong AND it was based off some freakin' dolls that teach girls to be, pardon my French, “sluts”.

Why can't Kramer stumble into my life again, except this time on the big screen?
