Recently I spoke again to JC LeSinge, enigmatic actor and star of Mestor Dansac's Beautiful Stranger. I had been looking on-line for JC's work, and came across a selection of sites purporting to showcase the eccentric Frenchman. Viewing these sites, I was surprised to see a stranger, not the man I know. I got in touch with JC, no easy feat, and he responded:
“There is a man who claims he is JC LeSinge, Actor, Artist and Master of Savate. This man is a liar; he is not even French! There is only one Jesus Charlemagne LeSinge and I am he! He claims to be a Ninja, but no Ninja would admit his identity, this is how we know it is not so!”
JC went on like this for some time before I was able to ask another question; what did he plan to do about it?
“Nothing,” he replied, “Jesus has no time for this impersonator, this charlatan, this cheap doppelganger who is not even French! Jesus knows the truth; he will waste no time with fraudsters who claim to be him!”
The argument between JC and his anonymous impersonator has sparked controversy in some circles, but when we asked a member of the public for their opinion, the response was, “JC who ? Nope, never heard of him.”
