Review of the movie Game Plan.

Let's go for first and ten and check out the movie The Game Plan. This movie was written by Nichole Millard and Kathryn Price. It was produced by Mark Ciardi and Gordan Gray, while under the direction of Andy Fickman. The Game Plan has a phenomenal team of stars, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Roselyn Sanchez, Kyra Sedgwick, Morris Chestnut, and Madison Pettis. This movie has a run time of one hour and fifty minutes. It is rated PG, and was released September 28, 2007 by Walt Disney Pictures.

The movie begins with a Boston based professional football team, The Rebels, chasing after a shot at the championship. The quarter back of the team is none other than wrestling's great The Rock. In this movie he is the unstoppable quarter back Joe Kingman. He is considered to be one of the best at being able to take a heavy hit and get right back up. He lives the bachelor lifestyle to the maximum. He is the life of all the parties, drives the nicest cars, dates the most beautiful woman, and is known as “never say no Joe.”

In the midst of all the greatness there is a knock at Joe's door. At the door stands an adorable eight year girl Peyton. She comes in and Joe thinks she is a fan of his and offers her an autograph. She announces to him that she is his long lost daughter. He freaks out and immediately contacts his agent Stella Peck. In waiting for Stella to show up Joe tries to state every reason why he couldn't be Peyton's father, but Peyton pulls out all the stops with birth certificate and letters from her mother. When she arrives they find out that Peyton has been left here by Sara, Joe's ex-wife, for one month while she is on business in Africa. With him being such the bachelor and his agent having not one parenting bone in her body they are in a jam. They try everything they can to find somewhere else for her to stay, but every attempt fails. He has to do something quick. Joe needs to learn how to balance being a new father, ballet classes, and bedtime, with his bachelor lifestyle, and star football career. Joe and Peyton have eight years to catch up on. It starts with him discovering her amazing bedazzling talent. (The art of gluing jewels to an object) She bedazzles everything from one of his trophy footballs to the coat tails of his jacket. I fell in love with Peyton's character and how she wiggled her way into her father's life. She is a very smart young lady and an accomplished ballerina. She shows that she has inherited her father's determination and talent. Peyton puts him through some serious trials and tribulations. She even gets him to participate in her ballet classes. There are many details that she does not share with her father that come to light as the story unfolds. She manages to cause an interruption in every aspect of Joe's life. From the car that he drives, to the woman he dates. She even takes over his bulldog Spike, and puts him in a tutu.

There are many life lessons in this movie. You will have just as many laughs as you do tears. As the championship gets closer the real meaning of the game comes to life. It doesn't have anything to do with money, cars, models, or football. It's no longer about the drive or the passion of winning a championship. It becomes all about winning the heart of one little girl, Peyton Kingman.
