A Guaranteed Blockbuster

Denzil Washington delivers every time. Fans can count on an outstanding and emotional performance that reaches out to millions.

Who lies low but always delivers? We lives in a celebrity world where camera's intrude on our actor and actresses lives on a daily basis but one man seems to stay below the radar most of the time yet always delivers a smash hit performance. He slams it out of the ballpark every time. Looking back on some of his early movies (while the movies themselves may not have the best), he has always delivered a solid performance, even outstanding. Mississippi Masala, The Hurricane, & Devil in a Blue Dress are all very good movies due only to Washington's performances. Denzil Washington performed sensationally in each of earlier movies.

Later films are a different story, although Washington's performances have not changed; they have just evolved. His outstanding acting shines through in John Q, Training Day, The Great Debaters, The Manchurian Candidate, Antwone Fisher, Inside Man, Man on Fire, & Déjà vu.

Washington has been careful to avoid being typecast, even turning down a roll to play Martin Luther King, Jr. His big break came when he starred in the film Malcom X. The next year he played the homophobic lawyer in Philadelphia and since then he has been on a roll.

Washington has been awarded three Golden Globes and two Academy Awards which he admittedly deserves. He raked in over $200 million for his role as Frank Lucas in American Gangster, portraying a real life drug dealing gangster. It is reported that Washington has now picked up the book Eli, by Eli Weisel and is said to be working on the future movie, The Book of Eli. Look out fans, Washington strikes again.
