Into the Wild

A movie review of Into The Wild.

I went to see Into The Wild because I saw a trailer and thought it looked spectacular. I wasn't disappointed to an extent, however there were definitely a few things that could be done differently or better.

For example, the movie starts at the end and has flashbacks. This is a great technique, however it got rather confusing as to whether you were watching a flashback or the present time. At the end of the movie, however, I realised why it was done this way, but I still think it could have been done better. The film is about a graduate who decides to give up everything and trek to Alaska. It is as much an emotional journey as it is a physical one. He meets some interesting people along the way which help him and also challenge him.

I must disagree with the level of nudity in the film. It didn't add a thing to the movie and it definitely pushed the extreme limits of a PG film. The movie could have been more kid friendly and more enjoyable without it and it wouldn't detract from the film whatsoever.

The actors were excellent and the storyline was great (it is based on a true story). The locations and filming was stunning and the end brought a tear to the eye.
