I must admit, I was a little nervous going to see the new transformers film. Would Michael Bay do justice to such a large part of my childhood (Optimus Prime was my hero)? Would the movie leave a bitter taste of disappointment in my mouth? Would my Diet Coke go flat before the movie was finished?
The reality was, I had nothing to worry about (except the Diet Coke problem). Transformers made me feel like a kid again. In fact, I may even go out on a limb here and say I haven't been that excited after a film since Star Wars back in 1977.
The dialog is cheesy, the acting questionable, but in the end... who cares. From start to finish Bay drags you along on his roller coaster of fun and it doesn't stop till everyone claps at the end. What a rush!!
So, if like me you are worried about what to expect, fear not. Leave your brain at the door and regress into the wonderful days of youth. Transformers gets a solid 9/10 from me.
